Susan Rooke

Susan Rooke originates from Nottingham where she began to play the oboe at the age of ten, attending the South Notts. Music School and later the County Band. In October 1987, having obtained a University of Warwick Music Scholarship, Susan went there to read Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics - MORSE for short. During the three year course from which she graduated in July, Susan took an active part in the musical activities at Warwick, winning the University Concerto competition in 1989 and touring Austria with the orchestra and chorus last Easter. She has studied the Oboe with Janet Nabarro, Paul Arden-Taylor and Malcom Messiter, but currently receives lessons from Karen O’Connor in Birmingham. Still at Warwick, Susan is presently following a Masters course in Management Science and Operational Research. (November 1990)
