Trumpet Concerto in E flat

Allan Robinson was Music Teacher for Brass Instruments in the North Hertfordshire Education Service. He studied at the London College of Music under Edgar Riches and Dennis Egan. As well as performing in a wide range of freelance engagements, he is Principal Trumpet of the Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra. His teaching activities are centred around Highbury House Music Centre. A recent enterprise has been his involvement in the formation of the Buccinate Brass Ensemble, which has already been heard in two local concerts. Mr Robinson wrote his own cadenza for the Concerto and played on an E Flat Trumpet by Selmar. (November 1987)
