Eugenie Dalgleish studies at the Purcell School of Music. Her teacher is Mark Messenger, Head of Strings at the Royal College of Music Senior Department, and she attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department. Eugenie has performed solos at many venues across England, including the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2016, Eugenie won the Purcell School’s Junior Concerto Competition performing Barber’s Violin Concerto. She was then chosen by BBC TV to perform the concerto on the TV programme ‘Melody and Friends.’ The programme was first broadcast in October 2016 and is repeated regularly on the BBC. Eugenie recently performed solo recitals at Great St Mary’s Church and St Andrew’s Church in Cambridge. She has worked as a soloist with various orchestra’s across England including the Hitchin, Watford and Lichfield orchestras. Eugenie is an established orchestral leader. She successfully led the RCMJD String Orchestra and Sinfonia, the RCMJD Chamber Orchestra and the NCO Main Orchestra. She is currently leading the Purcell School Chamber Orchestra performing various cello concertos with Steven Isserlis at the Deal Festival. Eugenie is also a talented chamber musician. Her string quartet has performed for HRH Prince Charles at Sandringham and at the RAH’s Elgar Room. Most recently, her piano quintet performed at St James’ Piccadilly and had masterclasses with Levon Chilingirian and Guy Johnston. Eugenie has also taken part in violin masterclasses with both Krzysztof Smietana and Alina Ibragimova.
